Frequently Asked Questions

01

Getting started

Do I need to already know what kind of system I need before I call?

No — that's exactly what our diagnosis process is built for. It's not a generic walkthrough — clients typically reach out to us already knowing that security or niche insights are missing, or that overhead is too high, they just haven't pinpointed what or why yet. That's where we start, and it's that expertise at identifying what others miss that makes Vertex Integrated what it is today.

How long does the process take from first call to installation?

Timelines vary based on client urgency, site complexity, and whether it's a fixed or mobile deployment, but every project starts with an assessment so you know the real scope and timeline before anything is installed — not after.

Do you require a long-term contract?

Contracts are optional for up to the first year — we'd rather earn your business by proving the system and the service, not lock you in on day one. Service agreements are optional too, so you're never paying out of pocket for parts or labor. If something needs to be repaired or replaced, we handle it, with no surprise costs.

02

System capability & scaling

What happens if my risk or site changes after installation — do I need a whole new system?

No. Our infrastructure is built to scale with you, so adding cameras, expanding to new areas, or adjusting monitoring is possible without ripping out existing hardware. It's also built to stay current — your system can receive regular software and analytics updates over time, so your equipment doesn't become outdated. We're committed to using the most advanced technology available and tailoring it to fit your site, so your system keeps up as your risks, your operation, and your expectations change.

Why offer cloud storage instead of just on-site hardware?

On-site storage relies on hard drives, and drive prices have climbed sharply over the past year as AI data centers buy up the majority of global manufacturing capacity. That's driven up the cost of traditional on-prem storage hardware significantly. Offering a storage option that isn't dependent on that market gives you a path to strong coverage without being exposed to hardware price swings that have nothing to do with your security needs.

What actually sets your system apart from a typical AI camera setup — both the analytics and the hardware?

Most systems come with generic person, vehicle, and animal activity notifications, running on hardware that still relies on dated infrared technology. We configure detection around the specific risks and patterns of your property instead of out-of-the-box defaults, so what you get flagged on actually matters to your operation. That's paired with high-resolution hardware built for real conditions — including nighttime color view — so those tailored insights hold up the moment the sun goes down and an incident actually occurs, not just grainy black-and-white footage you can barely make sense of.

Do mobile units work in areas without power or reliable internet?

Yes — mobile and temporary deployments support solar power and generator backup, along with remote connectivity options, so they can be placed in remote or developing job sites.

03

Monitoring & response

What actually happens when your system flags something — do I get a call, an alert, or something else?

Depends on your monitoring level. With professional or hybrid monitoring, a trained analyst reviews flagged activity before anything escalates to you or a responder, so you're not getting notified over routine movement. Proactive alerts reach you and the monitoring operator simultaneously, so you're always in the know — and if it's after hours or you're temporarily without connectivity, the monitoring center still handles the right response, so nothing critical ever gets missed.

How does monitoring work if I manage multiple properties, and how much control do I have over protocol at each site?

Everything ties into one unified platform, accessible for you as the client, with the optional addition of 24/7 human-operated monitoring. When that's part of your setup, you set the protocol for each site individually — the script, call list, and escalation steps the monitoring station follows for that specific location — so a warehouse and a residential property under the same account can each respond in a completely different way, based on what you've defined.

04

Business & trust

Will working with Vertex Integrated affect my insurance or compliance requirements?

Many insurance providers offer discounts for monitored properties, and verified monitoring and documented coverage can also support broader compliance and risk-management goals. Specific impact depends on your provider and policy, but it's something we can help you think through during the assessment.

Why should I choose Vertex Integrated?

Because the security industry is consolidating fast, and when vendors get bought out, clients lose their go-to security person — the one who actually knew what mattered to their home or business, their family or staff. We promise to always stay customer-service-centric and relationship-driven, in a world quickly becoming automated, so the person who diagnosed your site is still the person you call years later.

We'll never add customer number 11 without making sure the first 10 are taken care of. A good restaurant doesn't add tables to the dining room without adding staff to the kitchen — we run the same way. That's how we plan to grow: we pick up the phone when you call, we prioritize the human relationship over the shortcut, and we use the most advanced technology available to actually take care of you — not replace the person who does.
